Senior Smartwear Designer (Monsoon)

We have a high profile opportunity for a Senior Smartwear Designer to join our innovative Monsoon Womenswear Design team to provide ‘vision' and design direction for all categories within our Smartwear portfolio. If you're a passionate, focused and collaborative designer with proven experience of designing collection based ranges gained from a busy supplier or head office in-house design environment, then we would like to hear from you. Our opportunity would suit experienced formalwear designers looking for their next step or senior designers looking for a fresh challenge. This role is responsible for the entire Smartwear portfolio such as workwear, tailoring, events, occasion, outerwear and black tie. Providing innovation and developing unique commercial ranges that reflect the Monsoon brand are fundamental to the role. You will also initiate and manage the critical path and creative development across a multi-product collection to ensure that a cohesive range is delivered with outfitting for our customer. You will contribute to brand strategy and oversee the development and day to day of the smartwear design team. Overseas travel will be required. You will be an experienced designer with creative and technical ability to design a multi-product collection. Proven development experience and critical path management acquired across a multi-regional supply base is essential. Strong leadership skills are a must as you will be leading and developing a small team. The ability to respond, research and initiate seasonal trends whilst remaining true to the heritage of the brand is essential. With excellent presentation and communication skills, you will also be confident in presenting at a senior level. Previous experience of working with suppliers in the Far East is desirable. You will be competent with Photoshop; working knowledge of Illustrator and/ or Kaledo is desirable. If you are able to demonstrate a commercial understanding of both the Monsoon handwriting and womenswear market, then this could be the role for you. What are we like to work for?
