Multi  Product Garment Technologist

Overview

Garment Technologists in Superdry have an excellent eye for detail, are realistic in what is achievable, but strive to deliver the best product on the planet. Working in close partnership with our Design team you will lead the development of our product across our innovation ranges. With a broad understanding of different product types and experience of working across both genders, you will work closely with our Co-Founder, James Holder pushing Superdry into new areas. Coming from a background in a recognisable high-end brand, you will have excellent fit experience, the ability to work well in an autonomous environment and the drive to innovate at every opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver our new innovation ranges, developing great fit,  identifying risk and solving issues early in the process.
  • To drive brand fit DNA and ensure standards are maintained across your products
  • To initiate regular fit assessments, checking stock and blocks across the collections, liaising with design and management in line with the critical path
  • To drive Superdry standards with suppliers and key stakeholders and deliver required standards, highlighting potential delays to management as appropriate. To offer solutions when issues arise and advise supply base to action as appropriate
  • To develop products through supplier manual approval process adhering to the critical path.
  • To improve and develop suppliers through advising, coaching, raising issues and planning for future ways of working.
  • To drive the risk assessment of products, raise concerns with the Technical Team Manager and collectively address issues in a timely manner in order to make commercial recommendations and decisions on the next course of action
  • To share knowledge with the team to ensure innovation is driven on a wide scale where achievable
  • To drive critical path events with key stakeholders suppliers to maintain the agreed deliveries
  • To plan workload following the buying calendar, raising issues, risk or opportunities to management

What we’re looking for

  • Must have proven, lengthy experience working at Garment Tech or Senior Garment Tech level in a role developing products across multiple categories with a high-end focus  
  • To have gained experience working in a recognisable high-end, premium fashion brand or supplier.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of different fabrics, finishes, construction, production methods, fitting, grading and QC. The ability to lead fit meetings and knowledge of how to improve a fit issue is essential in this role
  • Have experience working with an international supply base maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Have sound IT (Microsoft) knowledge, Illustrator and 
  • Be enthusiastic and determined, with a passion for innovation and technology, team spirit and positive attitude.
  • Be a confident communicator in order to maintain a strong working relationship with Design, Merchandising Sourcing, regional offices, colleagues and suppliers.
  • Ability to make sound, commercially focused decisions under pressure in a changing and autonomous environment
