Marketing Project Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join the Marketing team here at Matalan head office. As a Project Manager, supporting the Senior Marketing Management team you will manage the implementation of all major marketing projects, ensuring they are delivered to brief, on time and within budget.

Marketing Project – The Role:

  • Scope of role includes, but is not limited to, monthly mailings, POS phase launches and ‘always on' communications
  • Working with senior managers, establish objectives and time scales for each major project
  • Work with stakeholders within and outside the department to schedule, co-ordinate and implement all major projects, mobilising teams and overseeing delivery end-to-end
  • Establish best practice project management processes within the department
  • Be the central point of contact for major projects, and manage a consistent communications flow, through the use of status meetings, minutes, actions etc
  • Drive continuous process improvement
  • Establish a regular process to report to the senior management team with a global view of all major projects
  • Establish an effective review and escalation process to mitigate any risks in good time
  • Forward planning of all major marketing critical paths and projects
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with senior managers, marketing specialists, other departments and 3rd parties
  • Deliver all projects on time
  • Deliver all projects to budget

Marketing Project – The Candidate:

  • Experience of leading teams to deliver successful projects
  • Good level of verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and negotiating ability
  • Recent experience in marketing
  • Qualification in project management would be an advantage but not a necessity
  • Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft office software
  • Flexibility to tackle varied projects and manage changing deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to 'think outside of the box' and problem solve
  • Positive approach to overcoming barriers
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Enjoys working in a team and with different people and different levels
  • Proactive
  • Strong influencer
