This successfully expanding online sportswear retailer is seeking an experienced Merchandiser to join their team. Providing sportswear ranges for men, women and children, the company has gone from strength to strength and is currently implementing plans for further growth both nationally and internationally.

Working closely with the close-knit team and reporting directly to the Managing Director, the key objective of this role is to optimise sales & profits, and will include:-

  • Utilising sales data to prepare range plan together with the Designer
  • Preparing weekly and monthly sales reports, and interpreting and communicating this information to the team
  • Identifying best and worst sellers, patterns in popular styles, sales by channel to help plan the range and appropriately allocate budget to new styles
  • Forecasting sales at SKU level, using sales history, lost sales calculations and future business plans to prepare order quantities and ensure stock is ordered in timely fashion, and out of stocks are avoided
  • Managing SKU and inventory data, including barcoding and item attributes, by maintaining the line detail
  • Working closely with warehouse to arrange reporting and resolve stock issues
  • Providing data for management accounts and assisting in production of annual budgets
  • Checking payments, invoices, delivery notes against packing lists & purchase orders
  • Reviewing processes and procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure they are fit for purpose as the business grows

The ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive mind set and driven attitude, and have:-

  • Several years' experience in merchandising in a variety of organisations
  • Strong understanding of production cycle, buying seasons and how merchandising affects all aspects of the business
  • Relevant degree level education
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ability to work with high volumes of data, accurately producing  and analysing reports
  • Confident and clear communication skills at all levels and desire to build strong working relationships
  • Planning and organisational skills, along with problem-solving abilities
  • The desire to improve ways of working and innovate, drive, enthusiasm and self-motivation
  • Adaptability and flexibility to thrive within this fast growing business
