Do you love all things Fabric? My client is a growing ladieswear supplier who are looking for a Fabric Technologist to join their team – a true specialist in their field!

About the company...

Our client is a well known supplier based in the heart of London in Zones 1, they work closely with many high street brands and retailers, supplying them with a range of ladies wear. They have a 70+ head count and have been growing a very steady pace.

About the Fabric Technologist role...

With experience working across the Fabric Critical Path utilising your technical skills and knowledge, you would be working closely with the sales and garment technologist team, and be the Fabric “go to” person in the team. The role consists of but isn’t limited to:

  • Critical Path Management from taking control of raising Fabric orders with the mills through to bulk delivery and approval

  • Provide knowledge and advise to the Sales and Design team on fabric suitability, risk assessing the garments through the development process ensuring any potential issues can be pre-empted and caught early on in the process

  • Management of test results and full understanding of entire report, working closely with the customers on any issues or problems ensuring they are solved quickly and efficiently – Base and Bulk Tests

  • Work closely with the internal teams to ensure the correct labelling is added to the garments

  • Work through bulk fabric batch approvals, including testing and QC are all in line with customer specifications prior to fabric shipments

  • About you…

    The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role as well as:

  • Experience of working across a variety of fabric bases – woven and jersey

  • A textile degree is highly desirable

  • Ability to work to and follow the critical path, working closely with the teams to ensure all delays are kept to a minimum

  • Able to provide strong Technical Knowledge on Fabric suitability, chemicals, pre empting any issues prior to bulk

  • Computer literate and able to confidently manage and navigate both internal and external customer systems.

  • Ability to communicate well with overseas factories as well as with all internal team members

  • Excellent work ethic, strong team working skills and provide commitment to work together to make the business grow from strength to strength.
