A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a design manager. Working with a well known luxury brand who also have a strong brand presence in the high street market, this position will drive the business forward both creatively and commercially.
About the company...
Our client is a great company with a small confident and dynamic team. The business is known for designing luxury catwalk and red carpet pieces for the modern day man and woman. The brand also has developed a fantastic licensing range for a variety of high street businesses and it is this area that the individual will be responsible for.
About the Design Manager role...
There are two elements to this vacancy, the creative and the commercial.
The creative will allow you to work with the Creative Director of the business and develop the clear direction and aesthetic for each Licensee per season.
Here you must think about the Brand and the product mix to ensure that the aesthetic is carried through where possible.
The commercial will allow you to work with the Head of Business to formulate initiative and drive revenue as well as work on the future growth plans of the business. To spot any gaps in the market etc.
Key responsibilities include:
Oversee, influence and develop the Licensee Buying & Merchandising teams
Develop tread research, forecasting and range planning
Manage how the brand is presented publically by the Licensees
Create new concepts for categories and be accountable for new ranges
Build relationships with Licensee Buying & Merchandising teams
Be an ambassador for the business, establish emerging business partners etc
Influence Licensee seasonal ‘buy’ budget plans
With a background in Fashion Design or Fashion Management you will take full responsibility of the licensing sector of the business.
Here you will continue to build the licensed sales, develop relationships and have a track record of delivering commercial ranges. You must be creatively aware as this naturally is a huge part of this vacancy as well as having the commercial confidence to work with a wide variety of Licencees. You must be knowledgeable about multiproduct Womenswear categories but childrenswear would also be beneficial.
You must have:
An entrepreneurial spirit with passion to drive a business forward
An understanding of Licensing Partnerships and how best to develop these
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Creative ability to translate brand aesthetic to licensing partners
You will have the opportunity to work with two incredibly influential business partners.
