We are currently looking for a Brand, Ethical and Compliance Officer to work for a fantastic British lifestyle brand that is growing internationally. This position will oversee the Brand Protection, including the management and registration of trademarks and identifying and resolving online and in-market infringements and drafting of compliance notices. You will also be providing legal support and advice to enquiries and business decisions.

Main duties of this role will include:

  • Managing the brand protection process within the organisation, including trademarks and domain names maintenance and defence
  • Ensuring compliance and audit trail in line with the Ethical Trading Institute regulations, particularly around the modern slavery act both in the UK and internationally.
  • Identifying best practice and processes to identifying counterfeit products being sold abroad
  • Performing legal research in relation to ad-hoc legal queries, e.g. on requirements in relation to marketing or product labelling
  • Developing engaging communications and training materials to be delivered to internal stakeholders to build awareness across areas of responsibility and within the wider Asset Protection & Risk Managements Team
  • Implementing best practice to aid in the prevention, detection and resolution of process failings
  • Factory risk assessments and overseas supplier’s visits
Person requirements:
  • It is important to either have a strong knowledge of Brand Protection processes or and educational background within law
  • You must have a strong work ethic with the ability to effectively prioritise and maintain high standards whilst being able to handle working under pressure and to deadlines.
  • You must have strong people and communicational skills. It is important that you are able to communicate appropriately with different stakeholders
  • It is not essential that you have come from a fashion background however would be beneficial to have knowledge of the industry.
