An established and expanding ladieswear clothing company based in the North West now have an exciting job opportunity for a Softs Design Manager. You will enjoy working as part of their established team in a modern open plan head office where there will be plenty of opportunity for progression.
Your new role
As the design manager you will manage the design team and ensure they are designing commercial on trend high street fashion. Working closely with the team you will be involved in all aspects of the business from initial concept to finished product and ensure we are providing high quality latest fashion to our customers. In addition to this you will also be responsible for generating sales and ensue the sales are fulfilled and deliver to the customer as per each contract. Building and maintaining excellent relationships with all customers. This is a hands on design role where you will lead trend research and produce trend boards and sketches of new ideas. Furthermore you will attend fashion shows and go on shopping trips in the UK and abroad to look at emerging trends and to buy samples to work from. You will then produce detailed artwork on CAD (photoshop / illustrator) to show to customers, as well as producing detailed design sheets for the factories to work from, making sure they have all the information needed to develop the sample. On top of this you will also monitor your teams performance ensuring they are productive and meeting high standards of work.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced ladieswear design manager, who has worked for a commercial fast fashion clothing company. You will be used to managing a large range and also have experience of managing a team. You must be fully proficient on CAD (photoshop / illustrator) and have a beautifully presented portfolio that has an emphasis on ladies jerseywear.
