Unit Leader Colour
Be the Expert for Colour...
Our Client a leading International Retailer is recruiting an expert in colour management. The successful applicant will provide functional direction and leadership to their dedicated fabric teams within Europe and Asia regional hubs and be responsible for textile materials and components colour approval whilst supporting the global Materials strategy.
This is a high profile international role and offers a challenging opportunity for an experienced Textile Technologist or Colour Chemist. Strong leadership skills are essential. Responsibilities include:
•Recruit, Lead and train the Global Colour team
•Work and communicate effectively cross functionally between Global Sourcing, Design, Merchandise and Quality internal partners to execute and ensure proper execution and communication on Colour
•Establish and manage Client's Colour Palette within a virtual Colour Library in PLM and to ensure the meet the Brand requirements.
•Implement Colour software to store seasonal colour palettes per brand and support the distribution of these palettes internally and externally.
•Implement new Colour technologies & processes to support the Color and Business initiatives.
•Responsible for Managing the Colour team and set up a clear Colour standard operating procedures and process globally to ensure proper execution of Lab dips and Bulk colour to the correct standards and digital tolerances.
•Manages teams in an integrated approach by setting team objectives, targets and guidelines to ensure effective cooperation with all business counterparts.
•Encourages critical thinking and problem solving in others
•Provides coaching and mentoring to direct reports, and builds on their individual core strengths
•Identifies talent strategy and succession where applicable
Qualifications and Experience required
•Degree in Textile Technology or Colour Chemistry, with knowledge of fabric construction, dyeing, printing and finishing.
•Experience of working with Digital colour technology, Spectrophotometers & Colour software
• Senior Management experience in textiles or colour management. European Retail brand experience an advantage.
• Knowledge of Textile manufacturers and suppliers in Europe and Asia
