Burton – ‘A man thinking brand’. Established in 1903 by Montague Burton, Burton Menswear London is a staple on the British High Street. Burton’s aim is to be the most inspiring, best value fashion brand for their customer. Burton’s core customer is 25-35 in age and mind-set. He has an interest in fashion but wants it to be ‘easy’ – easy to wear, masculine and good quality, but a good price also. Using multiple channels to research and purchase, he seeks regular newness of product and outfit ideas. However; over 30% of Burton’s customers are women!

An Online Analyst is needed to employ quantitative and qualitative data, spanning all customer touch points to identify, facilitate and track business improvement opportunities


  • Scoping, implementing, analysing and reporting of:
    • online usage
    • e-commerce activity
    • key trading metrics
    • user behaviour
    • site traffic analysis
    • online marketing programs
    • customer database optimization
  • Supporting business goals and driving effective online decision-making, delivering web analytic insight and reporting to increase online sales and profit
  • Making data driven recommendations to management using this information, with the goal of supporting Burton Digital top level strategy
  • Reporting for seasonal planning, inventory management and online site performance optimization
  • Sharing analysis with team members to improve productivity, online sales and marketing effectiveness
  • Utilizing data analytics to create recommendations for site improvements
  • Developing and maintaining key reports and dashboards
  • Managing ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Driving core insights from available data leading to fundamental improvements to the user experience
  • Providing website behaviour and customer experience analysis
  • Establishing key customer pathways and planning the analysis of the customer experience by combining both quantitative and qualitative factors
  • Analysing on-site merchandising and making recommendations for optimization of the on-line customer experience
  • Using Clickstream, conversion funnel and search analysis data to provide insights into the customer journey throughout the website
  • Providing insight into customer value by transaction behaviour – recency, frequency & value – and by key demographic - Recognising trends of key performance indicators
  • Managing the tagging of all internal and external campaigns
  • Coordinating tag and tracking parameter implementations with the development team to ensure reporting requirements are met
  • Analysing the effectiveness (ROI) of online and offline marketing campaigns (search & direct traffic), and on-site promotions
  • Providing analytical support for customer acquisition, conversion and retention


  • Proven experience in web analytics or similar analytical role
  • Experience in use with Adobe Analytics/Omniture or a similar analytics tool
  • Excellent ability to multi-task
  • Great attention to detail
  • A ‘problem solving’ approach
  • Flexible approach and an aptitude for working in high pace, and fast changing environment
  • Experience in fashion / retail / online preferable
  • Strong interest in fashion, trends and youth culture
  • Ability to contribute fresh and innovative ideas
  • Ability to work independently
