Description

I am working with a sports brand based in the North West of England who are looking for an Assistant Apparel Developer who will;

  • Take responsibility for developing and approving (sealing) products from initial tech pack through to final bulk production/buy-ready ensuring all quality, fit and price targets are achieved.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure the most appropriate selection of materials for each product development.
  • Ensure all tech packs and all associated CAD's are created with accurate information that can be interpreted and understood by factories.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure quality requirements are clearly understood and achieved throughout the production of samples and bulk orders.
  • Be responsible for ensuring roles and responsibilities between the development team and other teams in the business are clearly understood and any gaps are identified and closed.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure appropriate allocation of apparel styles and timely approval of all products to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the supply base and ensures awareness of supply base capabilities across the broader team.
  • Be a role model, maintaining a positive attitude and supporting the broader team.
  • Ensure the design/development calendar is clearly defined, understood and managed to ensure alignment across the business.
  • Participate in weekly calendar meetings, calling-out any risk to key dates, associated impacts and options to get back on-track.

  • Collaborate with the customer and category teams to ensure that all briefs contain the required information and are thoroughly understood.
  • Together with the category and supply chain teams, review all designs prior to development and all prototypes prior to being offered to customers to ensure alignment with the commercial brief and the brand plan.
