A UK leading design house & supplier with an excellent reputation for designing High street best sellers and providing a high level of service. They have a very successful menswear department and are looking to grow the business with several younger fashion high street brands, as a result they are looking to give an exciting opportunity to the right candidate to grow their career within the company.
Your new role
As the Mens Knitwear Designer you will be responsible for designing on several key accounts. You will initially identifying trends / colours/ yarns and create mood boards and CADS to present to your customers. Once approved you will produce detailed design specs to send onto the off-shore factories ready for production. This role requires you to create commercial and affordable ranges right for each specific customers needs. In addition you will be responsible for sourcing yarns / trims / components. You will also oversee the Critical path to ensure samples arrive on time to be turned round for customer sign off meeting. Furthermore there will be opportunity for inspirational travel in UK and international.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a highly motivated and confident person who is able to confidently present in meetings. Passionate about product and ambitious to achieve successful ranges. You will have strong CAD skills i.e. Photoshop / illustrator / Shima. Furthermore you will have a good understanding of design implication on costs and production. You must have mens knitwear experience, with an eye for young fast fashion.
