A leading global multi-channel retailer has a fantastic opening for a Print Designer to work within this retailer’s rapidly growing clothing business.

Wanting to bring a sense of practicality and style to the high street, our client aspires to deliver beautifully designed wardrobe essentials as well as striking trend pieces. Well known for their signature prints our client is now seeking a junior print designer to add to their talented team.

About the print Designer role...

For an ambitious and passionate print designer this is the perfect opportunity for a junior candidate to become an essential and hands on individual within a well known and growing high street brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the buyers who will plan your product objectives and design direction.

  • Re-colouring and resizing of vintage and sourced prints.

  • Developing ‘Get The Look’ prints from catwalk inspiration.

  • Preparing artwork packs for manufacturers.

  • Track all artwork developments.

  • Using trend information (from catwalks, magazines and websites) to compile seasonal mood boards & develop key print trends.

  • Range planning alongside buying and merchandising team.

  • Skills required:

  • Photoshop & Illustrator a must, along with hand drawing skills and adaptable handwriting.

  • An understanding of the manufacturing process, print techniques and fabrics.

  • A good sense of colour and experience in compiling trends.

  • An understanding of how to translate fashion trends into commercial products.

  • Good organization and a working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

  • Experience of working closely with overseas manufacturers.

  • An ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.

  • About you…

    With print being a staple for our client it is essential that candidates are professionally skilled in Photoshop & Illustrator, along with hand drawing skills and adaptable handwriting. You must also hold...

  • An ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.

  • A strong creative flair with a keen eye for detail.

  • Must be able to follow instructions and deliver work following instruction.

  • Being open to feedback and willing to make changes to your designs.

  • Preferably an understanding of the Pantone colour system not essential.
