Working for this this world renowned luxury business you are required to manage the product development process by working closely with the designers to develop each category from initial concept through to finished product.
*Utilise product knowledge, take ownership and ensure quality and attention to detail
*Maintain quality standards, functionality (including consistency and standardisation) and end use
Responsible in working alongside with Engineering teams while developing the collections for product testing to relevant standards
*Speed to market -manage the critical path and lead times
*Cultivate effective working relationships with vendors. Capability knowledge of vendors and vendor management
*Develop products that are fit for purpose for the customer, brand and business
*Deliver prototypes and samples on time to the required standard of quality, and within target cost price range to achieve target margin (and raise awareness where there is a risk of not achieving)
*Own the critical path from concept to pre-production and support the end to end critical path timelines
*Connect and facilitate the end to end process
*Work with all manufacturers to calculate costs for prototypes and samples
*Implement development critical path with manufacturers, ensuring deadlines are adhered to
*Ensure all samples deliveries are on time to showrooms prior to market
*Respond to margin requirements - developing product in line with range plan
*Responsible for the hand off to production of all ranges of products
*To provide information and resolve problems that arise during and after the development of the collection
*Monitor and report on the budget for product development and prototypes.
*Accountable for managing the product development process within their category. Influence own partnerships with cross functional teams.
*Effectively develop and manage a team
Proven product development experience within Knitwear (essential) at a Luxury brand level (preferred)
*Fluent Italian highly desirable
*Prior people management experience essential
*Prior solid experience in working alongside Designers
*Experience of technical and fabric construction / engineering
*Strong technical product knowledge - specifics on areas such as knit, construction, pattern cutting, fabric construction, raw material (woven and yarns)
*product knowledge -'fashion sensibility', knowledge of trends, the market, peer awareness and knows the luxury consumer
*Strong communication and influencing skills
