A BIT ABOUT

Operating at the heart of our business, Shared Services offer efficiencies to all of our Brands by providing centralised resources and competitive synergies for the Group. The Shared Services teams work across all Brands and are responsible for a huge range of activities from delivering product to over 30 countries worldwide, to achieving award winning store designs and handling 100,000 Customer Care calls each year. Within Shared Services there are over 1,000 employees working across 16 distinctive departments including IT, Finance, HR, Logistics, PR, Property, Digital and Purchasing.

THE ROLE

Our Property team is responsible for more than 2,500 stores in the UK, and handles various aspects of the property process including rent negotiation and the acquisition of new store sites. Our Store Development team is responsible for designing and implementing new store concepts for all the brands in the UK and abroad. They also project manage store modernisations and implement the design and vision of new Arcadia stores. Most recently the Store Development team was responsible for designing our new Topshop Topman store in LA, and continue to support our growing UK and international expansion plans

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

  • Acquisitions of store in UK and Europe providing a quality service to the Group’s retail business
  • Negotiating terms for site acquisition and the management of external agents and utilising/extending the Group’s relationships with landlords and developers as appropriate
  • Preparing & submitting necessary papers/presentation material for Board Approvals
  • Managing internal reporting processes for acquisitions including database management
  • Instructing solicitors acting for the Group and approving/ negotiating documentation
  • Working closely with Store Design/Development on new store time-tabling, specification issues, landlord’s consents and retail closures
  • Working alongside Store Planning providing support/information/advice where appropriate
  • Liaising with Retail Operations, Estates Services and Retail Finance as appropriate

MUST HAVES

  • MRICS qualified with proven experience
  • Good knowledge of retail market with existing contact base
  • Knowledge of German market would be useful
  • Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable with a friendly approach
  • Articulate with excellent communication skills – ability to liaise with people at different levels and to be able to work well on own initiative and as part of team
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment and work well under pressure
  • Demonstrates commercial awareness
  • Confident and professional approach when dealing with both internal and external customers
  • Good presentation & report writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to travel at short notice
  • Full UK driving Licence Required
