About the Garment Technologist role...

With previous experience of working within a technical team either within a supplier or a retailer environment, this role is a great next step for a Garment Technologist who is looking to grow in their career. Working within an established technical team, you will take responsibility of your own area. This role includes (but is not limited to):

  • Working closely with the buying and design teams, you will be responsible for driving the fit and technical process for your given area, ensuring the brands technical standards are achieved and maintained.

  • Manage and drive your own fit sessions from development through to production, ensuring all comments are auctioned as required and communicated clearly to the suppliers and off shore factories in line with the critical path set

  • Report into the Technical manager and working through any difficult issues, ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner so not to affect delivery

  • Establish the testing requirements for all styles, advising on the correct wash care instructions and following through on all base and bulk fabric tests to ensure the results are commercially acceptable to the standards set.


    About you…

    The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience of working within a technical role either within a supplier or a retailer and who is confident working with both woven and jersey based garments including trousers and dresses

  • Excellent attention to detail coupled with excellent problem solving skills and a high level of communication with the factories and in house team

  • You must be proactive and hands on, with the ability to work in the team but also independently as required with a strong work ethic

  • Knowledge of pattern cutting is desirable but not essential

  • Be confident with driving the fit meetings to achieve the desired fit in line with strict deadlines
