Girlswear Designer - The Company

Our client is a thriving and dynamic design-led fashion brand for women's and kids, with a great opportunity for a Girlswear Designer to join their childrenswear design team in Gloucestershire. You will be responsible for designing an exciting, innovative, commercial collection.

Girlswear Designer - The role
*Identify key trends relevant to the brand, identifying key fabrics, colours, prints and shapes and presenting this research to the team.
*Produce highly detailed Technical design drawings with fabric, colour, print, trim detail to send to manufacturing partners to get right first time samples
*Manage critical path to ensure timely production of all design packs to ensure the right product is delivered at the right time.
*Work with the quality team to ensure the health & safety requirements on childrenswear are met and taken into consideration when designing new styles.
*Understand blocks and measurements for designs in order to get a right first time sample.
*Communicate with buying and merchandise team weekly to be able to identify best & worst selling lines at product level and ensure that the learnings are applied back to future designs.

Girlswear Designer - The candidate
*Educated to Graduate level.
*Excellent knowledge of Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office.
*Possesses an excellent eye for detail
*Demonstrates a passion for fashion, knowledge of designers and flair for developing product
*Ability to identify key trends, shapes, colours and looks appropriate to the customer.
*Experience of working on multi products.
*Excellent Fabric knowledge
*Full driving license and own transport is essential.
*Significant experience of working in a kidswear design role for a manufacturing or retail business, with specific experience in girlswear.
*Overseas travel will be a requirement of the role.
