Your new company
A fast growing and very successful retailer based in Yorkshire who are passionate about delivering products with excellent customer service, actively invest in community projects to encourage IT and partner with initiatives for diversity in the technology industry. They have invested in a modern head office and offer free membership to their onsite gym and provide a subsidised on site restaurant. They are continually looking to grow the range of products they offer their customers. They have an opportunity for a Buyer to join them with the aim of continuing to grow and develop their Technology product range.
Your new role
Your main responsibility will be to drive revenue and margin growth in this product area. Using your outstanding influencing and people skills, you will work with new and old suppliers both domestically and internationally. You will ensure supplier and sales performance is monitored and action taken accordingly. You will work in partnership with the QA team and other internal teams to ensure that all products, both branded and own label meet the high standards set by the business. You will be responsible for developing and planning promotional activities and will work closely with a FE sourcing team to develop a range of own-brand products. You will have the support of an Assistant Buyer and will be responsible for their coaching and development.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you should have demonstrable experience in Buying Laptops / Desktops / Computer Peripherals. You should have excellent presentation and negotiation skills in order to influence suppliers and you will also have planning, organisational and time management skills to help you in your daily role.
