Our client, an established and sophisticated luxury womenswear brand are recruiting for an experienced Senior Buyer to work very closely with Creative Director/Owner to help develop the business within the UK and Internationally.

The Senior Buyer will work across all Ready to Wear including, retail exclusives, signature and private clients’ collections and will be responsible for buying across own store’s, Concessions and Department stores

Responsibilities: -

Range Planning

  • Select product to create the offer
  • Create buying plans at department and International Store level
  • Work closely with the CEO/Creative Designer, design, merchandising, marketing and retail to review, influence and cohesively deliver both the product strategy and ranges throughout the buying process. Focusing specifically on Product and Brand Direction
  • Work closely with the own brand Buying and Merchandising to review the OTB plan and forecast at class and department level
  • Understand and take accountability for delivering margin for the business
  • Maximise the sales and profit of the product range in accordance with department targets.
  • Select & plan new ranges with department stores and Franchise partners
  • Assimilate trends and feed into buying plans
  • Negotiate with Suppliers to secure desired products and supporting terms
  • Conduct contract negotiation with concessions and subsequent amendments to initial contracts

Trading      

  • Deliver intake margin to plan at product area level
  • Analysing data /product performance – replenishing successful lines, implementing promos/markdowns
  • Review performance at monthly team reviews
  • Marketing – ensuring optimisation of marketing exposure to increase sales
  • Gather competitor data and review competitor activity. Utilise all available market data to identify trends and assess competition to ensure delivery of optimum product offer
  • Manage buying and retail disputes
  • Identifying growth opportunities, fashion forecasting and mass market trends
  • Participate in regular team meetings to review product and store performance and agree team priorities and any changes to plans
  • Presenting to department stores
  • Conduct store visits

Key Requirements:-

  • A minimum of 5 years spent as a Senior Buyer across Luxury Womenswear Brands
  • Previous experience of preparing & implementing Strategy
  • Experience in planning and co-ordinating promotional activity
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
