ASSISTANT BUYER

A great opportunity has arisen to join a recognised brand in Leeds.

Role overview

To provide administrative support to the Buyer. Be involved in the design and development of the wholesale SMU ranges and orders for all formal and casualwear within the business. To manage the day to day running of agreed product categories being overseen by the Buyer.

  • Relevant skills working within a buying office
  • Flair for design and commercial eye for product
  • Good time management

  • Communication skills 
  • Self - motivated
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
  • Knowledge of garment construction and fabrics 
  • An interest and experience in design with a good working knowledge of illustrator
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Experience with in house systems that manage business operations
  • Educated to a minimum of GCSE level with Maths and English
  • Ideally a fashion or textile related degree
  • 2/3 years’ experience in a buying environment with experience in a similar role dealing directly with suppliers & customers
