(Senior) Merchandiser

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a fast-paced premium womenswear (mainly) and menswear brand as one of their senior level Merchandisers, based in their London zone 1 head office.

 

Overview of role

  • Merchandiser for all mainline and outlet stores
  • Divisional financial planning
  • Department and range planning
  • Range building with product teams
  • In season trading and OTB management
  • Top line divisional in season forecasting

Responsibilities

  • Create seasonal strategy under guidance from Merchandising Director and option plan alongside Buying team
  • Prepare Financial Plans, Department Plans and Sign Off Packs with attention to all major KPIs (Sales, margin, markdown and closing stocks) to present to Merchandising Director (MD)
  • Present in all sign off meetings to MD/PD with accompanying documentation/analysis to justify decisions
  • Present in pre-sign off meetings with SM to finalise strategy/ranging/buy
  • Manage OTB on seasonal and continuity lines
  • Work closely with Buying team to create cohesive and commercial range for the target market balancing price, fashion, colour and size in all stores
  • Regular competitor shops to understand market and develop commercial awareness
  • Oversee AM reporting process to ensure concise, accurate and timely information is received by team and MD
  • Present to Buying and Merch team in weekly trade meetings, proposal of actions for following week highlighting areas of risk and opportunity
  • Review AM markdown/promotion proposal and present to MD
  • Take ownership of intake and stock levels with any significant delivery movements reported to MD
  • Accountable for stock allocations and replenishment to branches as required
  • Manage WSSI with quarterly reforecast
  • Manage stock in season to ensure all KPIs (Sales, margin, markdown and closing stocks) are achieved
  • Hold regular 1-2-1s with direct reports to review goals and drive performance
  • Delegate and prioritise team tasks
  • Conduct annual reviews with realistic but stretch goal setting in line with company KPIs
  • Demonstrate market awareness including competitor activity
  • Understand the target customer
  • Awareness of and works within Brand values
  • Positive attitude and adaptable to constantly changing retail environment

Essential Experience

  • Formal qualifications: Educated to degree level or equivalent, GCSE Maths or equivalent
  • Commercial and product focussed
  • Demonstrably computer literate in spreadsheets
  • High level of numeracy require
  • Excellent team management skills
  • WISSI and Excel skills

Desirable Experience

  • Track record confirmed through promotions within businesses worked in
  • Current Merchandiser level experience
