Food Lead Auditor

In this role you will be responsible for planning and conducting professional management system audits in accordance with company procedures to enable delivery of assessment and certification services that meet customer requirements and appropriate accreditation standards on food, food packaging and packaging materials; You will maintain a high standard of service delivery that ensures effective customer relationships, primarily BRC Food, S & D, Agents and Brokers, HALAL, you may also complete some ISO/FSSC22000 and second party audits; completing all chargeable work within the required budget and timeframes to ensure customer satisfaction and efficiency of the business.
The successful candidate will be a qualified and experienced Packaging & Packaging Materials Auditor to audit relevant companies and grading them on the robustness of their compliance processes against the Global BRC Standard; this will cover Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), site standards, personnel and product processes and the effectiveness of controls to ensure quality and safety in packaging.
You will be academically qualified and have completed a food safety/hygiene qualification at least equivalent to a UK level 3 qualification; otherwise the company require a degree or diploma in a food or bio-science related discipline and have passed the EQIPT examination in Packaging or equivalent as listed in PO56; Additionally, completion of a formal HACCP training based on the principles of Codex Alimentarius, of at least 2 days duration should be proven, along with a demonstration of competence in the understanding of HACCP principles and have successfully passed a registered Management System Lead Auditor Course (i.e IRCA) or the BRC Third Party Auditor Course and fulfilled a period of training which shall involve witnessed assessments of a minimum of 3 audits at a variety of audits against the standard.
This is a national role covering the UK and will involve a combination of office, client site and home working, therefore the successful candidate must hold a full driving license and will be willing to travel with the occasional overnight stay.
