Menswear Garment Technologist
An opportunity for a Menswear Garment Technologist in West Yorkshire
Your new company
A company with a wide range of fashion forward menswear across multiple product areas including Woven, Jersey, Denim, Knitwear, and Tailoring. They have a great office culture and have fantastic relationships with their suppliers that are built on mutual trust and respect - they prefer to work in a mentoring / relationship building way with their supply base. They are looking for a Menswear Garment Technologist to join them on a full time basis.
Your new role
You will ensure consistent product quality across this multi-product range in regards to fit, fabric quality, and wash performance. You will have access to on-site testing facilities and you will be working with an in-house fit model to check the fits of a wide range of garments including Woven, Jersey, Denim, Knitwear, and Tailoring. You will work collaboratively with Design to advise on new development and deliver clear, concise comments that are easily understood by the Far East supply base which may also involve updating or creating new garment size specifications. You will be responsible for maintaining the high standards set by this retailer in regards to technical, legal, safety and manufacturing requirements to ensure that product is fit for purpose and exceeds customer expectations. This role is 100% office based, with no Far East travel.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have demonstrable experience as a Menswear Garment Technologist - it's not important to have covered all product areas, but you should be a strong technologist and be able to be self-managing and autonomous. You will have an excellent eye for fit and any pattern knowledge would be appreciated but not totally necessary. Good memory, good organisation skills and a cool as a cucumber approach required as there'll be a lot going on at once.
What you'll get in return
This company values talent, hard work and a positive attitude. You will be supported in your personal and professional development and will be surrounded by like-minded people aiming for the same goals. This client can offer training on specialist product areas you may not have covered before - such as knitwear or tailoring. In return you will receive a salary between £25,000 and £30,000 (Depending on Experience).
