The Client:

My clients is apparel manufacturer with multi-site production facilities catering to some of the worlds best high street brands. They have 3 business units, and for their Auto-Knitting department they are looking to hire an experienced Technical Manager with extensive experience in automatic machine programming.

The Role:

Ensure maximum efficiency and optimisation of all automatic machines in the factory through proper risk assessments, minimisation of timing, waste management, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise programming from sample to bulk stage across the whole range of styles and models
  • Set production goals and plan requisite resources for achievement
  • Maximize utilizations of existing resources (including people) at the lowest possible costs
  • Explore new production or machinery technology to improve overall production efficiency
  • Support overseas automation dept. in terms of monitoring progress and transferring technologies
  • Improve organization efficiency by upgrading staff quality and improve communication
  • Work with customer as well as designers to create and program new and existing ranges
  • Implement and maintain a world class maintenance program for machines and spare parts
  • Provide professional advice in pattern making, troubleshooting, sharing technical knowledge, etc. to ensure smooth running of projects
  • Inform Top management about the latest trends and technologies related

 

Profile:

  • 10 - 15 years of experience in an automatic knitting factory of (Stoll and/or Shima)
  • Exceptional knowledge of automatic knitting programming on Stoll (M1+) and/or Shima (Apex 3) software
  • Specialist in tuning machines on complex styles and yarn
  • Excellent trainer on automatic technical skills for all levels from Operators to Mechanics
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Previous experience in managing cross-cultural teams
