Sourcing Manager - London
We are looking for a talented sourcing manager to work for a London based supplier of apparels to the high street. The sourcing manager will focus mainly on their Indian factory base, hence knowledge of Indian production and factories would be ideal.
About the company:
Our client is a supplier of mainly jersey wear to the UK high street, turning over about £20 million. Key customers are Primark, Tesco, George, M&S, Arcadia group, Next, etc. The London team comprises of sales, design technical and merchandising functions. The role of a Sourcing Manager for India is a newly created position.
Sourcing manager: the role:
You will be responsible for:
- Managing all production and sourcing aspects for India ( a factory base of around 30-40)
- Building strong relationships with factories and make sure that orders are delivered at the right time, at the right price and at the right quality
-Educating factories on quality standards, processes and systems and build a transparent communication process between factories and buyers
-Identifying gaps and areas of improvement and implementing tools to make the systems more efficient
-All quality and production aspects as far as India is concerned
-Sourcing new factories that could potentially add better value
-Travelling frequently out to India
Sourcing manager: the person:
The ideal candidate will:
-Be London based but be prepared to travel frequently to India
-Have strong sourcing and production experience, ideally with India
-Have a strong personality, yet have the ability to work collaboratively
-Have strong relationship management skills and problem solving skills
-Be customer focussed and provide a good service to our buyers through expectation management and good delivery skills
-Be prepared to travel to India as and when needed.
-MUST be eligible to live and work in the UK.
