The key objectives of the Business Finance Manager are:

*Improving the impact and understanding of financial reporting on business performance
*Providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial reports to business strategies
*Providing strategic and commercial insight to senior business stakeholders including non-finance staff to enhance commercial and financial understanding of business decision making.
*Providing effective commercial procedures or initiating change to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are delivered including continual process improvement
*Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with all senior management (COO and managing director) and teams, including the account management, business development and creative teams.

Financial analysis, planning and reporting:

*Preparing the annual budget and running the quarterly re-forecasting and business review process by working collaboratively with the senior management and account management team.
*Analysing actual monthly / quarterly / annual results and present results of analysis including commentary of variances/movements against budget and forecast to senior management as well as impacts of current business performance on future performance.
*Manage the cash flow forecasting process including highlighting any funding needs, analysing aged debtors and managing the relationship between account managers, creative production (procurement) and the finance function to ensure optimal and effective cash flow management.
*Provide detailed cost analysis covering project spend, company-wide overheads and discretionary marketing costs and investigate material variances to budget.
*Monitor project profitability and performance and report on results to senior management and non-finance staff.
*Provide commercial analysis, including scenario modelling, trend analysis, financial modelling etc., to support business decision making.
*Managing the year-end and quarterly financial reporting to aid the finance function in executing reporting requirements including posting of month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and consolidation of trading entities.
*Ad-hoc involvement in the year-end audit process and dealing with external auditors.
*Preparation of financial information for inclusion in board packs to be presented and discussed with the Chief Executive Officer / board of directors as well as for external parties where required.

Key requirements for the role:

*Advanced degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field.
*Qualified accountant (ICAEW or equivalent) is preferred however not necessary, with +2 years' experience in a similar role or in the design, media and communications industry.
*Strong commercial awareness and experience.

This is a temporary role until February of next year, but could turn into a permanent position for the right person. This role will be paid on a daily rate, between £220-£240, depending on experience.
