Graphic Design Lead - Active Apparel & Equipment
Our client is the name behind some of the world’s best sports, outdoor and fashion brands. They are a third-generation, family-owned business and retain strong family values, they care about people and that is what drives their day-to-day work. With their global headquarters in the UK, they employ 2,000 people across 20 countries in the world. They now have an opening for an experienced Graphic Design Lead to join their Active Division based in Nottingham.
In this role you will lead the design creation of all Active Graphic Design (apparel and equipment categories) delivering compelling solutions that are desirable to consumers and in line with brand DNA and brand strategies.
You will be responsible for conceptualising and delivering graphic designs against seasonal creative direction and product briefs, managing a team of graphic designers with different expertise and backgrounds, allocating resources according to Brand requirements and managing workload, ensuring seasonal deadlines are met and critical paths protected. You will support and influence the Creative Lead role in the development of creative direction; take ownership of complex, technical or strategically important NPD/Innovation initiatives that are vital to the Brand’s plans, working closely with Creative and Innovation Leads. You will deliver customer focused design solutions, inspire the graphic team to push creative boundaries and present at design and development reviews to ensure overall design intent is retained throughout the development process to final sign off.
Applications are invited from experienced Graphic Design Leads with a proven track record of delivering successful, considered and desirable graphic designs in a product environment specifically in apparel, fashion, footwear or sportswear and sports equipment. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required as are strong communication and self-motivation skills and the ability to influence and lead a team of designers, nurture talent, encourage and support development and inspire a team of design experts. The role requires an adaptable, versatile and open minded individual who is passionate about design, inspiring, creative and forward-thinking with strong management skills. The ability to travel is also a requirement.
