Client Details

My client is a very well established high street brand based in Twickenham. They are looking for a Senior Merchandiser / Merchandise Planner to come and join their buzzing head office!


For the role of Senior Merchandiser in Twickenham you will:

    • Assist in the preparation of budgets, sales and profit targets

    • Effective management of WSSI leading to identification of risks and opportunities in sales and stock

    • Monitor performance against plan, taking appropriate action to maximise sales and profit and reduce stockholding whilst increasing stock turn

    • Identify new business opportunities to grow sales and profitability

    • Propose and implement mark-down activity to reduce terminal stock whilst analysing action taken on mark-downs to maximise profit

    • Communicate trading issues and forecasts with proposed actions to senior management and Buyer

    • Develop and agree plans in partnership with the Buyer that achieve sales and profit targets and implement the agreed departmental strategy

    • In conjunction with the Buyer, agree a framework with senior management within which a balanced, commercial and profitable range is built

    • Evaluate market and customer information together with historical data and forward trends to develop the department's phased plans

    • Develop price architecture for each product category ensuring alignment with overall company strategy

    • Present the range for review achieving senior management agreement

    • Create a range plan to optimise the allocated space and maximise sales and profit density with Space Planning team

    • Agree and deliver promotional and marketing plans, optimising sales and profit

    • Quantification of 'Open to buy' with phased commitment to increase flexibility throughout the season

    • Forecasting sales and stock and identifying risks and opportunities through use of WSSI and Line Cards

    • Provide Buyer with an optimal Option Plan using historical data and future market knowledge

    • Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers

  • Analyse Suppliers' delivery performance and, in conjunction with the Buyer, take appropriate actions


For this role of a Senior Merchandiser you will need to have -

    • Marketing/Merchandising/Retail/Business Degree
    • Ability to operate in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment

  • Results driven - committed to making things happen, ability to juggle initiatives and able to prioritise those that will have bigger impact on business
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills to be capable of commercially analysing and evaluating data
  • Excellent commercial awareness and appreciation of customer needs.

Job Offer

A competitive salary of £60,000 - £65,000 plus competitive benefits
