This is a rare opportunity for a talented designer to join one of the world's leading modest fashion brands for women who choose to adopt a modest dress code into their lifestyle. You will be creating beautiful modest clothing, with a minimal and contemporary style; using high quality fabrics and unique textures, allowing women to dress with confidence and sophistication.

This is a fantastic, creative opportunity based in a busy head office with a family feel.

Key Responsibilities

* Working closely with the Head of Design to research, develop and deliver all products across the womenswear collection - including ready to wear, occasionwear, outerwear and accessories.
* Bringing new and original ideas to the table to create a constant flow of new product for our customer.
* Sketching and Illustrating product ideas across different mediums (manual and digital)
* Detailed, accurate technical designs & specifications across jersey and woven product via Adobe Suite.
* Autonomous development of products from sketches, to first sample through to final product delivery
* Managing and participating in regular fittings and lineup reviews
* Responsible for ensuring all product is costed and developed in line with budgets and targets.
* Working closely with the garment technologist to ensure every product is suitable for the customer and complies with high quality expectations.
* Range planning and presentation of ranges for sign off in collaboration with the Head of Design
* Working closely with international suppliers to ensure the timely development of products in line with deadlines.
* Negotiating and agreeing prices with suppliers throughout each process to achieve targets and margins

The Candidate

* Previous experience as a womenswear designer, ideally across woven and jersey multi-product.
* Degree in womenswear design or equivalent essential
* Previous experience working for a major retailer, supplier or e-com company in a similar role
* Exceptional knowledge of fabrics and garment construction
* Experience designing both casual and formal garments, particularly dresses and occasionwear
* A passion for womenswear with an innovative trend focused handwriting
* Excellent sketching skills and technical drawing skills
* Highly proficient in all Adobe Creative Suite programs and Microsoft Office
* Highly organised and precise in all tasks
* A positive attitude and a flexible approach to succeed in a busy and varied role
* Excellent written and spoken English
* Willing to travel for a minimum of 6 weeks a year to the Far East to work directly with suppliers and manufacturers as well as trips throughout the year across Europe, USA and the Middle East to attend trade shows and undertake inspiration trips.
