You will report to the Assistant Buyer of your department. Provide support and assistance to the Buying team, carrying out essential administrative tasks and supporting day-to-day running of the category.

My client a leading British retailer with a long standing heritage are looking for a number of Buyers Admin Assistants- Home to join their buying teams in their North East office.   • Deal with both internal and external customers courteously and efficiently, providing the highest standard of service at all times

  • Effectively liaise with and build lasting relationships with key vendors and the shop floor team

  • Assist the Merchandiser / Buyer in achieving sales, margin, stock targets and terminal stock levels on a seasonal basis

  • Maintain communication with external suppliers to ensure the smooth flow/import of goods to the company

  • Assist the Merchandiser / Buyer in the regular production of sales and stock commitment and OTB reports (including WSSI's if applicable) to ensure the fulfilment of sales, profit and stock targets

  • Establish and maintain up to date price lists and catalogues, implementing price changes as requested

  • Update external brands/suppliers on information re sell through and other KPI's

  • Maintenance of the Department product database (RMS), inputting new SKU's correctly, updating season codes and ensuring products are discontinued appropriately

  • Prepare and provide accurate analysis as requested by the Buying / Merchandising function

  • Provide the Merchandiser / Buyer with essential information regarding orders, deliveries and liaise with the stock movement function to ensure the smooth flow of stock, including the action of debits on a weekly basis to maintain an appropriate level

  • Make regular physical checks on the stock in the department (selling floor, stockroom, warehouse (if applicable) and advise the Merchandiser / Buyer of stock levels on a regular basis

  • Undertake stock result investigation

  • Keep the Buyer up to date on sales performance when absent from the business

  • Ensure all aspects of your work embrace the companies vision and values


About you

  • Very organised and structured in way of working

  • Able to work under time pressure to meet deadlines

  • Highly numerate and IT literate - esp. in excel

  • Good at building relationships

  • Numerate, Good analytical skills

  • Able to make logical decisions under pressure

  • Financial awareness

  • Fashion / Creative Degree

  • Highly desirable 12 months buying experience or Import Merchandising experience or Product Coordinator experience or similar
