Our client is one of the biggest names in the global intimate apparel manufacturing sector; they are currently seeking a highly experienced Technical Manager. This is a senior position reporting to the CEO of this vertically-integrated organisation with manufacturing facilities located within Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh, producing jersey and woven casualwear, lingerie, underwear, textiles and trims.

Based at their impressive state of the art facility in India, the main responsibility of the role is to develop high quality product and provide a high service level throughout the development process, and will include:-

  • Implementing product development processes which deliver the best quality product
  • Resolving technical issues in the product development process
  • Assessing viability of design collections for bulk production
  • Developing methods of improving efficiency within the technical team
  • Leading, mentoring and coaching your team to develop technical talent
  • Implementing quality assurance and quality control processes
  • Budget responsibility for your area

The ideal candidate will have:-

  • A related degree-level education, with 10-15 years' industry experience in multiple product areas and particularly the intimate apparel sector
  • Strong pattern cutting skills and garment construction knowledge
  • Strength in garment costing, and identifying areas to improve efficiency in production
  • Excellent team management and mentoring abilities, communication and negotiation skills
  • A strategic outlook and critical path management abilities
  • Ability to problem solve and thrive in a pressurised environment
