This client ranks as one of the world’s premier watchmakers, designing, manufacturing and distributing globally an envied portfolio of respected watch brands spanning many market segments from Fashion to Luxury, each marque offering a wide range of growth opportunities.
Ever on the acquisition trail, a new name has recently joined this global corporate entity: a trade rebel which has within five years attracted brand wearers in their millions. Their proposition is pitched at disrupting overpriced and outdated products that pretend to represent fashion, replacing them with quality, minimalist on-trend designs at a radically modest price.
Our client’s UK subsidiary is now set to launch this sensational new line, and a talented trail blazer is required to establish this unique brand throughout the land.
This field-based role will require demonstrable account-handling kudos at every level within the watch and jewellery trade. Prior experience within a Watch or Jewellery brand would therefore be desirable.
Your CV will showcase your talent in growing the independent retail jewellery sector as well as your experience of dealing directly with national multiple accounts. Whatever the recipient’s buying power, you recognise that all are equally important, and your presentational verve, passion and account management efficiency sets you apart from the crowd.
Ultimately you will be venturing out with this new trade name for the very first time, and while supported by a very well-respected and established sales and marketing infrastructure, you will in the first instance be the sole brand ambassador.
Although single-minded in your brand endeavour, there are group resources upon whose expertise you can draw when required. In this context, your experience of briefing and inspiring company colleagues to implement agreed actions within your client retail estate will hasten the launch and establishment of your brand in the market.
You will utilise your trade knowledge to identify every appropriate opportunity to introduce your distinctive watch range proposition and secure committed stockists capable of selling it through in abundance.
You thrive on new business acquisition, and are always ready to support sales, whether through offering your customers the very best of ‘back office support’, or by being ‘hands on’ at point of final product sale.
Unlike some other challenges you may have encountered to date, this role will call for very positive individual enterprise, whether securing additional marketing profile by opening new outlets, or negotiating additional in-store support and promotion beyond the customary standard from retailers.
You also interface effectively with your colleagues at Head Office, with the ability to inspire their best contribution and support, as well as the commercial astuteness to implement Head of Global Brand directives within your territory.
The corporate objective shared by all parties is for you to cherry pick a solid UK-wide base comprising independent and multiple jewellers and key department stores, from which sales will quickly start to thrive.
Once that happens, you will be justified in requesting an increase in your team headcount to support you in developing and nurturing your early independent market wins on the ground.
You will then lead and direct these account management successors to build upon the great start you have made, allowing you to become ever more focused on your NAM brief, increasing your involvement with brand marketing and future range development strategy. Based upon your contribution and performance, this could led you towards the role of Brand Manager within this new stand-alone business unit.
