Our clients are a highly successful clothing manufacturer covering a vast range of products. 

We are now seeking a talented Assistant Garment technologist to join their technical team. Your duties will include : to create and organise garment specifications & samples , meet critical path and customer deadlines  ,ensuring all samples and specs are generated and accurately to ultimately improve accuracy and minimise any queries. You will assist the pattern technician with any alterations and create and grade new patterns. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their garment technical skills.

The Assistant Garment Technologist is ultimately responsible for the following areas:

Product Development

  • Efficient build of all product specifications and BOMs
  • Resolving queries from suppliers on existing specifications
  • Producing technical drawings for garment specifications
  • Amending and grading patterns
  • Advising on design limitations in patterns
  • Creating and sending technical packs to relevant factories
  • Approving and testing all fabrics and trims
  • Attending fit sessions for all new product development
  • Visiting overseas factories to inspect new development during production
  • Sample Sealing
  • Management of samples across all product groups
  • Approving Bronze, Silver, Gold samples internally; sending clear comments to the relevant supplier
  • Attending fit sessions with the customer to approve samples
  • Ensuring samples are right first time and on time, in line with the critical path
  • Self-motivated, committed and interested in their work
  • Excellent product technical ability
  • Good eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure and manage your own time
  • Works well within a team
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Adobe Illustrator skills beneficial
  • Pattern and grading experience beneficial (Gerber Accumark)
  • Ability to travel within the UK and overseas
