Our Client is one of the leading denim washing plants in Bangladesh. They have been operating for over 30 years and work with some of the leading brands internationally. With a capacity of 50,000 pieces per day wash, it is considered one of the most established and foremost washing plants in the region. 
The Company is looking for some new spirit in its developments and seeking qualified individuals who can bring innovation to the sector. 
With Bangladesh apparel exports targeted to $50 Billion by 2021 our Client is investing considerably, restructuring it’s operations and capacity building towards this development. As part of this initiative they are recruiting a Senior Production Manager for their Washing plant. An excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to join a dynamic and progressive organisation. 

Role Description

  • The Production Manager is responsible for multiple departments within the Washing Plant and for driving and implementing operational strategy. He/she will lead all Operations, Customer Support, Delivery, Engineering and Administration efforts within the plant. 

  • The successful individual will be accountable for safety, quality, delivery, cost, staff management, development and business growth, ensuring company initiatives are carried out to their optimum whilst complying with Health and Safety requirements.

Responsibilities include

  • Schedule and provide day-to-day supervision and leadership to enable all laundry production staff work in a safe and productive manner 

  • Manage staff Health and Safety training programmes including process safety and safe equipment operation 

  • Assure policy conformance and enforce plant rules and regulations 

  • Work in conjunction with engineering department to maintain equipment efficiency levels. 

  • Monitor and implement all regulatory compliance coordinating with Compliance Control and applicable authorities.

  • Implement and maintain a predictive and preventative maintenance program

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfil orders and meet inventory requirements 

  • Manage staff and equipment schedules to meet production requirements. 

  • Routinely monitor production performance reporting results to Management and staff

  • Monitor delivery schedules of outgoing products. 

  • Recruit and build a high performing operations team, as well as consistently reinforcing teamwork among team members 

  • Build motivation among team members in order to achieve Company financial targets

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with all employees including Union representatives.


  • Candidates should have a degree or equivalent qualifications in Engineering, Business management or a Textiles engineering related subject 

  • Extensive management experience at a plant Manager level or higher and prior experience managing multiple facilities

  • Lean principles experience (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen Event Planning and Facilitation, Sales & Operations Planning, One-Piece Flow, Line Balancing, Theory of Constraints-based Capacity Planning, etc.)

  • Excellent business acumen, strategic planning, multi-tasking and problem solving skills. A proven ability to manage P&L financial statements

  • Ability to effectively interact with customers, suppliers and employees

  • Proficient in MS Office products Proven knowledge, experience and a history of success in operational management

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
