The Role

Reporting into the Merchandiser, you will play a part in the creation and delivery of the departmental strategy. You will use your experience to work closely with the Merchandiser to plan and trade the department in order to meet sales target. You will use your experience and knowledge to ensure that the developed ranges exceed the expectations of our international partners and grow the sales in our UK markets.


You will be..
- Supporting the Merchandiser to ensure the smooth running of the department: Weekly and daily diary, critical path management
-Escalate any trading issues and forecasts, along with proposed actions to Merchandiser or Buyer
-Managing the timely delivery of new stock packages
-Support the Merchandiser in managing Range Plans and WSSI's for UK concessions, reacting to performance, managing risk and potentialising bestsellers; informing Merchandiser of key opportunities and risks
-Support Merchandiser with any historical analysis and forward seasonal strategy planning
-Working with the Merchandiser to ensure balanced, commercial, and profitable ranges are secured
-Support Merchandiser in presenting ranges to senior management as well as external partners
-Building strong relationships with the buying team
-Forging strong communication channels with international partners to understand their markets and requirements
-Manging the development of MAA, and supporting when necessary

You will need to have:
-Experience at Assistant Merchandiser level within a fast-paced retailer
-Strong commercial awareness with a strong understanding of the industry
-Strong interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels across our business
-Strong People management skills with the ability to lead by example as well as perform as a team player
-Experience in coaching staff in core technical skills
-Experience in building and maintaining effective working relationships with suppliers
-Experienced in critical path management
-Good time management, prioritisation, negotiation & organisational skills
-Strong presentation skills and experience of presenting to senior management
-An eye for detail and a knack for spotting future trends
-Have strong attention to detail
-Excellent communication skills
- Are highly numerate
- Confident & have a passion for fashion and product
