Based in the heart of West Yorkshire, in an established manufacturing facility that produces luxury fabrics, you will be responsible for the fabric development team ensuring sample requests are delivered on time and meet the requested aesthetic, cost, quality and end-use requirements.

Key responsibilities will include working proactively with internal production and head office teams to ensure successful end to end development of Fabric from initial concept through to finished cloth, in line with creative brief; protecting brand aesthetic by utilising in-depth product knowledge and taking ownership of fabric development process ensuring quality and attention to detail is maintained. You will be responsible for owning and managing the critical path from concept to pre-production, managing development timelines, delivering samples on time to a high quality level and within target cost price range to achieve target margins. You will resolve problems that arise during and after the development of fabric whilst continually evolving how product development is approached, improving processes and efficiencies etc.

The role requires a high level of technical product knowledge, development expertise and solid experience within woven textiles. Ideally you will have a Degree in Woven Textile Design and previous experience in yarn dyeing and finishing of fabric with creative flair and the ability to interpret seasonal colour palettes. A high level of commercial awareness is required as are strong communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate. You will be solution and results orientated with a can-do attitude, able to work well under pressure. Team management experience is essential as is the ability to travel frequently to London.
