Assistant Merchandiser, Demand Planner

Our client is a brand and supplier of gift and party products to major luxury, high street, and Supermarket Retailers, and they are looking for an Assistant Merchandiser, Demand Planner to join their Grocery Hub team. You will ideally have a background of working with supermarket chains or similar large retailers, and have dealt with delivering stock either DDP, EXW, FOB.  You will be ensuring their customer's stock is delivered on time and in full!  You will need to be comfortable and confident in managing and analysing large amounts of data with great understanding of Excel and forecasting. The role is very fast paced, and you will be expected to work quickly but accurately to meet their customer’s high expectations.  You will report into the Senior Merchandising Planner and work closely with them on their key Grocery accounts.

Main Duties 

  • Knowledge of delivering orders DDP (Delivered Duty paid), EXW (Exworks), FOB (Free on Board) is of huge advantage, preferably supplying supermarkets/large Retailers 
  • Review sales and stock through effective WSSI management
  • Check customer forecasts and ensure commitment is agreed before ordering stock with the Buying Manager 
  • Provide the team and business with customer sales performance and share findings
  • New line form submission 
  • Booking customer orders with freight forwarders 
  • Invoicing FOB and Ex-works customer orders 
  • Responding to customer emails quickly and accurately 
  • Work with Accounts Dept to ensure LCL and FCL forwarder charges are paid promptly and credits raised to factories
  • Work with the warehouse to ensure they are delivering to the customer’s standards
  • Work with the factories to ensure they are given carton marking information accurately and on time
  • Ensure all debit notes are checked and challenged if not at fault
  • Check all the warehousing cost each month to ensure they have not been overcharged
  • Updating internal systems
  • Optimising box sizes with suppliers
  • Manage shipment schedule with suppliers and supply chain to ensure on time delivery
