Our client are a dynamic fashion organisation, who partner with major global lifestyle and sports brands to design, produce and distribute their swimwear, underwear and accessories.

Operating with almost 500 employees, this organization has embarked on a period of investment and growth to fully potentialise global opportunities.  The business has seen significant growth over the last 6 years and is now well set to deliver on their 5 year plan.

The culture embraces committed togetherness and working and delivering as a team.  A “down to earth” approach combining logic and common sense is practiced in a direct manner.  The hierarchy is flat.

Due to ongoing growth, there is now a requirement for a Senior Fabric & Yarn Developer.

You will develop fabric and yarn solutions for Bodywear, Swimwear & Socks. You will provide technical expertise in yarn and fabric developments that will fuel new product concepts and strategic development efforts. You will develop ideas and create technical material development solutions relevant for the brand portfolio, while ensuring alignment with seasonal direction/needs.  Collaborating with Product Development, Design and Product Management, you will drive a point of view for new yarn/textile technology solutions. Partnering with suppliers, external yarn and fabric mills, textile technology providers and machinery suppliers, you will develop solutions to ensure that relevant yarns and textile materials applications/processes meet all required performance and quality specifications. Additionally, you will continually research and analyse new yarn, fabric opportunities and machine technologies.

This is a new role and will report directly into the Product Director, 75% of this work will lie in bodywear and swimwear and 25% on socks.  It is important to have sports performance expertise and on knitted fabric and yarns.  Retail, brand or manufacturing experience is relevant.

We will also consider a Product Developer who has real fabric expertise.

This individual will be pivotal in terms of where and how to take product forward.

In return, this individual will secure empowerment and have the opportunity to deliver for world class fashion and sports brands, as the 5 year plan is realised.
