Key accountabilities

*Prepare the annual budget in accordance with the strategic objectives. Ensure regular reporting and monitoring to the CEO and SMT to manage the budget and control costs.
*Prepare and report regular cashflow statements, making recommendations to control expenditure where necessary, and maximise return on cash balances in excess of operational needs.
*Responsible for the preparation of payroll and its payment and any other statutory or regulatory requirements such as VAT, including TOMS, and ABTOT or ATOL.
*Responsible for the management of foreign currency exposure in accordance with the policy including the use of appropriate hedging or other instruments.
*Responsible for preparation of the financial statutory accounts and final management accounts, Council approvals, the year end audit, preparation of corporation tax computations and their submission, and all relevant HMRC processes and payments.
*Line manage and support the finance team.
*Ensure that the accounts team reporting is effective, timely and efficient in supporting other departments and the CEO.
*Management development and delivery of financial control practices and policies
*Responsibility for the contracting and procurement process ensuring appropriate practice is in operation.
*Directly support CEO


*Fully qualified Accountant with experience of working as a Head of Finance/Financial Controller;
*Commercial focus, developing and supporting business plans and growth initiatives
*Working as a senior member in a small, vibrant, high-energy team
*Experience of managing and developing a team
*Must have relevant experience working as a Head of Finance or Financial Controller in a large organisation, holiday and membership experience would be an advantage
*Strong communications skills - written and verbal
*Strong numerical, reporting and analytical skills
*Good experience of creating management reports
*Cost centre and expenses management
*Business line development and reporting
*Enthusiasm and passionate about developing business and improving processes and reporting
*Ability to maintain and develop strong business relationships with key external and internal contributors including colleagues from other departments, external agencies and 3rd parties
*Hands-on experience with Finance systems, especially Sage
*Development of business cases. Review of M&A opportunities
