An opportunity now exists within the South-East England region for a talented Merchandiser to provide best-of-industry sales support to all brand sales partners, to help ensure the maximum benefit from their stockist commitment.
The territory encompasses: Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Greater London (within the M25), Hampshire, Kent, Surrey and West and East Sussex.
You have benefited from a good all-round education, and you possess sound organisational skills. As this is a field-based role, a full driving licence is a must; and a couple of years’ retail sales experience would be ideal, enabling you to appreciate the challenges stores face when delivering branded sales.
If you already have experience of merchandising within the watch brand or jewellery sector, that will of course be advantageous, as would one or two years’ retail sales experience within a recognised High Street Retail Jeweller.
In every store, the company provides a specific brand marketing planogram to which they wish you to comply; your role is to ensure that each retail site is provided by our client with the tools needed to the job, and that the store sales staff understand, and are motivated to deliver, the agreed standards of presentation.
Recognising that first impressions count, you are smartly turned out and ready to impress everybody you encounter, from the start of the day to its end.
Upon your arrival, whatever may be required, your “hands-on” approach means you are prepared to roll up your sleeves and lead from the front: training your audience in how, why and what should be implemented, to maintain the required stock and display standards. From your own customer-facing days, you recall the huge advantage that confidence and good training in the merchandise provided you. Now, with the tables turned, you in turn will impart every element of watch brand knowledge to help your store colleagues meet and exceed their KPIs and enhance sales of Time Products watches, for the good of all concerned.
Always ready to assist, you will ensure listed lines are correctly placed in-situ and that any out of stocks are investigated during the call, and appropriately noted.
You are a fluent and confident communicator at all levels, from Sales Associate to Store Manager to even more senior personnel. You are the most frequently-seen “sales inspirer” on the ground, relentlessly calling for the delivery of the best possible brand sales outcomes.
The job is not finished until the admin is done, and you are always on top of it, whether it be uploading your photography and commentary to the company’s IT systems, or reporting to your line manager. You are the brands’ eyes and ears on the High Street, in the Department Store, or within the Travel Retail outlets. This career step into the world of field-based Sales and Marketing brings with it tremendous responsibility and accountability, and you eagerly embrace the progress that it represents.
