Apparel Designer – Performance Meets Street Style
Manchester
£35,000 - £38,000
A fast-growing UK fashion brand at the sweet spot of performance and lifestyle is looking for an Apparel Designer to join its creative team. Think technical outdoor gear with a modern, street-led edge – functional layers, trail-ready pieces and everyday sets built for movement, weather and real life.
You’ll help make sure every collection feels on-brand, consumer-focused and commercially sharp, while supporting seniors and helping juniors grow.
What you’ll be doing
- You’ll be a key part of a collaborative design team, working closely with Senior Designers, the Head of Design and Head of Brand. In this role, you will:
- Research and contribute to seasonal collections, looking at consumer profiles, new trends and high street competitors
- Work with the Senior Design team on design strategy for each season, across performance sportswear and outdoor apparel
- Take ideas from initial concept through to clean, accurate CAD designs and technical specifications
- Produce CAD designs within agreed timeframes, keeping quality high and details tight
- Work closely with Product Developers and participate in fit sessions to make sure product looks and performs as intended
- Apply a solid understanding of children’s safety standards, feeding key information back into the team
- Build relationships with overseas factories, supporting communication and development
- Travel to UK stores and overseas for development and production trips
- Mentor and support Junior Designers – checking Tech Packs, guiding CAD work and helping them level up
What you bring
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a high street fashion design role
- A relevant, up-to-date portfolio showcasing strong CAD skills and commercial design
- Confidence working to tight deadlines and shifting priorities
- Experience – and enthusiasm – for mentoring junior team members
- A keen eye for product, detail and trend, with an understanding of what the UK consumer actually wears
Ready to design product that performs on the trail and looks good on the street?
Send your CV and portfolio – we want to see your best CAD work and commercial ranges.
