Assistant Store Manager
We’re looking for an experienced, passionate Assistant Store Manager to join a growing retail business that’s known for its distinctive style and customer-first philosophy. The Assistant Store Manager will play a key role in delivering exceptional retail, operational, and commercial standards across the store, maximising sales, and creating memorable customer experiences through the leadership and development of a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Profitability:

Deliver outstanding customer service at all times, supporting the Store Manager in exceeding service and commercial goals.

Drive sales by maintaining high service standards and ensuring the team consistently meets expectations on the shop floor.

Lead from the front — maintain visibility on the sales floor and foster a welcoming, customer-centric environment.

Coach and inspire the team to deliver strong service and maintain a proactive sales floor presence.

Use KPIs to monitor and enhance team performance.

Keep the team focused on achieving daily and weekly sales targets.

Work closely with the Store Manager and Merchandising teams to ensure optimal stock levels and availability.

Share regular feedback on stock movement, bestsellers, and product performance to drive sales.

Support team training on brand values, product knowledge, and effective sales techniques.

Help execute visual merchandising plans, product launches, and in-store initiatives.

Partner with the Store Manager to elevate the customer journey and ensure visual standards align with brand identity.

Maintain high standards for presentation and store environment, always prioritising the customer experience.
People Management:

Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, providing clear direction and supportive feedback.

Contribute to people processes including performance reviews and attendance management in line with company policy.

Help create and manage staff rotas to ensure consistent floor coverage.

Take on additional responsibilities to support overall store success.

Ensure goals and objectives are communicated effectively across the team.

Build a positive team culture that’s engaging and inclusive.

Motivate and develop the team, offering support for professional growth.

Participate in performance reviews and ensure team training needs are addressed.
Health and Safety:

Work with the Store Manager to ensure that health, safety, and compliance standards are understood and followed.

Make sure the team is regularly trained and updated on health and safety practices.

Proactively raise any health and safety concerns through the correct channels.
