Couture Pattern Cutter

My client an award winning Luxury Designer based in West London are currently recruiting for an experienced Pattern Cutter.

About the role…

  • Creating first patterns from design sketches
  • Ensuring that all patterns are produced and finalised to the required fit and measurement standards, utilising company blocks while ensuring they reflect to the seasonal silhouette
  • Verify conformance of patterns or template dimensions to specifications using measuring instruments
  • Measure patterns and apply data accurately into Spec Sheets for Technical team
  • Mark identification numbers or symbols onto patterns or templates
  • Attending development and production fit meetings and amending patterns accordingly to the requests discussed
  • Communicate with in-house Garment Technologists and Product Developers to ensure that finished patterns are produced to the required specification and finishes
  • Making production patterns and measuring samples
  • General organisation of pattern room
  • Mentoring interns

About you…

  • Must have at least 8 years pattern cutting experience within womenswear
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience of garment construction, pattern cutting and textiles across various womenswear categories
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Must have good analytical skills to be able to interpret design sketches into first patterns
  • Personable and dependable team player
  • Proactive team player with great interpersonal skills
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Qualification within higher education, preferably in fashion related studies
