Garment Technologist

Leading beautiful womenswear brand requires a garment technologist. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with beautiful fabrics and garments, for a market leader in highstreet fashion.
Key responsibilities include:

• Have an understanding of technical capability of suppliers, including factory visits and audits (including the developing of CAP’s)
• Manage issues to be taken up with suppliers, keeping buying teams and offices informed and develop supplier improvement plans
• Follow up on ethical non- compliances
• Work with category team to deliver product strategy
• Ensure adherence to the required sealing process from initial prototype to production sign off (including critical path adherence and management) Drive improvements where required
• Work with design/buying teams during product development to get as many samples ‘right first time’ as possible
• Work with suppliers to achieve the most cost effective production methods to deliver the required quality standards
• Ensure all products are effectively managed through the appropriate testing and care /safety labelling requirements including the management of new fabrics/ components
• Understand block / size requirements on relevant category and ensure they are consistently applied across all products (clothing)
• Driving product forward in terms of fit, construction and technical performance in order to meet customer expectations
• Carry out overseas travel as required to develop supply base and product

What you will need to succeed as a Garment Technologist?

• Proven experience at Junior Technologist and Assistant Technologist Level
• Degree educated or equivalent in recognised textile qualification
• Proven experience of product; womenswear, childrenswear or accessories
