Garment Technologist

This exciting role is with a dynamic and successful business in North London, they are looking for an experienced Garment Technologist to join their expanding team. You will be driven, excited by product and used to working in fast paced environments.

Garment Technologist – The Role

  • Managing customer accounts, following the fitting and production of product areas
  • Developing good relationships with buying and technical teams
  • Prepare fit comments, size spec and graded size specs for the factory
  • Regularly liaise with factories and technical teams
  • Issue Chemical and Fabric testing requirements to factories, ensuring they meet standards
  • Submit approved testing reports to the customers and discuss any testing failures with the technical teams
  • Working closely with the Merchandiser to chase customer fit and production samples
  • Measuring, checking, and photographing all customer fit, sealing and production samples
  • Attending regular fit meetings to ensure garments are approved and critical path dates are followed
  • Manage and update production critical path daily
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Production Manager and the merchandising team, discuss production issues and work with the team to provide solutions
  • Liaise with China suppliers to ensure all QC reports have been sent to London for approval
  • Attend monthly meetings with the full technical team and production team and Director, contributing new ideas and best practices.

Garment Technologist – The Candidate

  • Product driven, enthusiastic, and self-motivated
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience as a garment technologist
  • Must have supplier experience
  • Strong eye for detail and excellent construction knowledge
  • Experience on multi product
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must have a strong knowledge of fabrics, pattern making, grading and garment construction
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High standards and an eye for detail
  • Team player
