Head of Buying

This is an amazing opportunity for a Womenswear Head of Buying to join a hugely successful Womenswear Brand in China. As a Head of Buying you will be responsible for managing a team of over 40 people working with buying, product development and fitting.

Responsibilities as a Head of Buying: 
- Drive product development by supporting the total design process, ensuring the range includes the latest developments / techniques / fabrics.
- Order placement with suppliers including negotiating purchase prices, quality and deliveries, to meet margins, quality and lead-time.
- Develop & execute a competitive production strategy (incl. speed to market in trends and repeats) and further develop supplier base 
- Plan and create collection together with product director/creative director for each season
- Lead partnerships with departments/brands to develop long term strategies to achieve goals of the business
- Guarantee fit and quality remains at high level 
- Constantly look for improved sales growth and sell-through in the brand’s multi-channel network of retail shops and on-line shops

- Strong fashion send and ability to implement new trends in the product development process
- Strong negotiation skills
- Eager to bring the best product to the shop floor

Experience for position as a Head of Buying:
- Minimum 8-10 years buying / development experience  in a women’s wear brand, preferable trend driven high street brand overseeing 20+ people
- Proven excellent leadership skills and strong management track-record
- Experienced working with Far East garment suppliers
- Understanding of the Chinese or Asian market 
- Hands-on product skills and skilled in the technical area
