As Head Accessories Designer you will be responsible for the creative evolution of one of the world’s most established and decorated leather goods brands and its younger sister brand which beautifully blends old and new to combine a taste of tradition with elevated style and finesse.
Both brands celebrate British craftsmanship with the use of exceptional materials that stand the test of time.
The initial focus of the position is to add elevated new products to both brands inspired by heritage, modernity, functionality and attention to detail. The successful head designer will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a management position specialising in the design of luxury leather goods with expertise in luxury handbags and a proven track record in high-end luxury accessories. Reporting to the group CEO.
This is a full-time position based in Central London.

Main responsibilities
- Conceive and set the collection and seasonal themes for two established luxury leather goods brands building on their heritage and signature.
- Identify opportunities for each brand based on market research and customer feedback.
- Seasonal research based on historical and heritage influences, current trends, design, functionality and competitors.
- Research into leather, hardware and components with travel to Linea Pele.
- Creation and presentation of mood boards to the senior management team.
- Produce design, mock-ups, sketches and specifications working closely with the product teams in the UK and Italy.
- Review and update heritage lines over time, demonstrating awareness of how these translate for the customer.
- Create accurate rendering and colour-ups of new and seasonal designs.
- Produce high-quality accurate design specifications and technical information for CAD’s, prototypes and confirmed styles.
- Demonstrate excellent technical, functional and construction knowledge.
- Devise and implement the design critical path to ensure collections achieve development deadlines.
- Implement the transition of accurate information to the product teams in an organised and detailed manner to ensure they have all the relevant information required.
- Manage and develop junior members of the design team.
Essential Skills
- Degree in Accessories Design.
- Head or Senior Accessories & Leather Goods Designer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in high-end luxury accessories with expertise in handbags.
- Positive communication skills at all levels with the ability to convey concepts, product knowledge and experience effectively to senior management.
- Sharp eye for shape, colour and suitability of raw materials.
- Extensive knowledge of leather and hardware.
- Solid commercial understanding of construction techniques for handbags, SLG’s and leather goods.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to organise and prioritise workload.
- Excellent drawing skills.
- Confident presentation skills.
- Hands-on and a self-starter.
- Positive leadership style with the ability to nurture and develop.
- Excellent cross-functional teamwork.

- Salary: £ aligned with experience + bonus
