Jersey Designer - Womenswear

We are looking for a well versed and experienced Womenswear Jersey Designer for a highly successful fashion supplier who work with major high street fashion retailers.

Based in Central London, you will be a creative and create inspiring jersey pieces that reflect emerging trends. You will be working across fashion-forward womenswear jersey multiproduct product for a number of well know retailers.

We are looking for a team player, who works collaboratively with other Designers and Account Managers.

Main Specifications:

• Researching, developing, and designing across womenswear jersey product, including identifying key shapes for the season and selecting fabrics.
• Develop design concepts through inspiration and research.
• Create jersey ranges in line with customers brand DNA and vision, producing detailed technical packs.
• Presenting trend research and ideas to Buyers.
• Have a strong knowledge of jersey fabric and garment construction.
• Travelling to customer appointments within UK and abroad when required to develop ranges and products.
• Communicating effectively with all internal and external teams, working closely with the production team.
• Building relationships with factories, advising on direction, silhouette, construction, key details, fabrics, trimmings and artworks.

Person Specifications:

• Experience as a commercial womenswear designer across jersey product.
• Sound knowledge of jersey fabrications.
• Strong design skills using Illustrator & Photoshop creating CADs.
• Excellent communication skills to work closely with team members.
• Team player and understanding of deadlines and critical paths.
