Junior Wholesale Merchandiser

My client, a well established and successful fashion and lifestyle brand are current looking for a Junior Wholesale Merchandiser.


To support the delivery of the sales and margin targets across all wholesale channels through detailed planning, trading and inventory management. In conjunction with the sales team, the JM Wholesale will identify and champion specific market needs and proactively bring proposed solutions to identified problems, challenges and opportunities.

Accountabilities Summary:

  1. Supporting the annual budgeting and seasonal strategy process and ensure KPI`s are achievable and measurable

  2. Setting up and maintaining Wholesale channel MSSI’s

  3. Supporting the end to end selling in process through detailed analysis, range assortment and buy proposals

  4. Actively maximizing sales opportunities through detailed and timely analysis of the order book versus target and last year; highlighting areas of risk and turning missed opportunities into additional orders

  5. Support the selling in review process to ensure lessons learnt are captured and fed back in a constructive and measurable manner to the design team

  6. Ensuring all key account selections are reviewed with the account manager to support the accurate forecasting and buying of stock prior to orders being updated on the system.

  7. Driving the buying critical path to ensure all wholesale orders are reviewed and on the system in line with the buy submission dates

  8. Review sales orders versus purchase orders at the earliest possible date, highlighting risk and proposing solutions

  9. To be aware at all times of delivery status and ensure the sales teams are informed of any risk to the timely conversion of the order book

  10. In season drive the order book conversion through detailed trading meetings for all key accounts, ensuring sales are maximized and stock risk minimized

  11. Accurately forecast wholesale excess stock position and produce margin enhanced stock package deals where appropriate.

  12. To be the main point of contact between the sales team and the Design and production team

Education & Experience required:

  • Min 1- 3 years experience as a Wholesale Assistant Merchandiser / Planner.
  • Previous Wholesale Merchandising experience, International experience would be an advantage

  • Advanced excel skills essential

  • Numerate, analytical and IT orientated

  • The ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
