Our client is a lovely business that is the largest specialist supplier of baby footwear in the UK. They are currently recruiting for a Merchandiser to work with high street retailers. The role will be to manage all aspects of the customer order delivery process for specified products and key customer accounts. To deliver all customer orders whilst meeting all company and business objectives and targets.
This role offers part remote working and a lunchtime finish on Fridays.
Merchandiser - The Role:
-Manage the delivery of customer sales orders from order raised to completion whilst meeting customer KPl’s and delivery requirements.
-Work in parallel with Account Manager and keep them informed of progress, advising from expertise point of view where savings and costs can be improved.
-Liaise with Technical Manager for the compliance, safety and testing of each style.
-Maintain all customer critical paths and information requirements in an accurate and timely fashion.
-Monitor progress, processes & documentation, control shipping & delivery, identify & resolve problems.
-Lead ‘new product’ handover meetings from the Account Manager to operations team and ensure information is available and complete to proceed with sample/order placement, with cad sheet/tech spec/agreed target prices.
-Place purchase orders with nominated and approved suppliers and confirm all terms of purchase and delivery.
-Specify the packaging BOM for all new product lines and purchase orders and ensure all packaging is purchased and delivered to the manufacturers OTIF.
-Complete ownership of Critical Path, sales order processing, purchase order processing, delivery, shipping and invoicing. Responsible for the upkeep and must be referred to daily.
-Work efficiently with internal and external teams to drive the CP process and facilitate information flow between all parties.
-Manage the customer relationship interface during the delivery process visiting customers where necessary to enhance service requirements and business expectation. Accompany client buyers on manufacturer visits to appreciate production process.
-Manage the process from start to finish, maintaining the agreed cost base as provided by Sales team at handover. Ensure overall awareness of cost implications of changes and delays, which could potentially impact planned company margin or at additional impact to the business
-Negotiate with suppliers and customers providing suggestions and solutions to resolve or avoid delivery issues. Escalate where necessary to Account Manager.
Merchandiser - The Candidate:
-Positive 'can do' attitude, adaptable, proactive, enthusiastic and prepared to get involved
-Ability to multi-task, problem solve and work under pressure in a fast paced environment
-Highly organised and efficient with excellent administration skills
-Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
-Strong time management skills and priority planning awareness
-Previous experience of dealing with customers essential
-Experience of baby footwear construction and manufacture is desirable.
-Strong communication skills at all levels and cross teams
-A creative and commercial eye for product manufacture
-A strong team player but also the ability to work on their own initiative
